Killbrittain Woods

This painting "Kilbrittain Woods" is now with the school of music. Geoff Spratt, the Director of the School Of Music picked it out. Paintings are often given as prizes in their competitions so my painting may find it's way to anywhere around the world.

My Family and I often go for walks on a Sunday and on one of these walks we visited the Woods in Kilbrittain. The walk is very peaceful and even has a Budist Temple on the riverside. The begining of the walk has the skeleton of the Fin Whale that washed up on the beach in August 2010. The whale was  the Subject of a program on Channel 4.

Just a few thoughts on our fantastic sales in the School of Music

We had fantastic sales at the School of Music. 19 of 45 paintings sold, various prices and subjects. A few tips for those that might be planning an exhibition.

1. Choose the venue carefully.
2. Get a professional person to hang the works, it makes all the difference.
3. The works should be framed and ready to hang in someones home.
4. Don't overcrowd the paintings eg place paintings in a single line across the walls.
5. When in a group make sure they complement each other.
6. Put a suitable apt name for each painting.
7. Enjoy the opening night.

Because of these things our exhibition was a great success and I'm looking forward to having another at some future date.

Friday 4 May 2012

There are only a few days left of the exhibition in the Cork School of music. If you get a chance go in a see the works. You might even be entertained by Choirs that are performing around the City for the Choral Festival.

My New Painting

I thought you might like to see my latest painting in the style of Toni Grote,
I hope she doesn't mind that I took inspiration from her work.
